- typically I come in and help for 2 to 8 weeks(on average) for 3 to 5 hours per day, as many days per week in that period you may need.(typically 2 to 4 days per week) Some families would like extended support, and I am happy to work with those families for longer periods of time- up to approximately 8 to 12 weeks postpartum. When we talk about your needs, we can discuss what you are looking for in a postpartum doula and go from there. If you are thinking you only need a few days of postpartum support, and choose to extend beyond that, I am happy to stay on and support you and your family as needed. I am able to stay for up to 5 hours at a time during the day, and for those overnight occasions I typically will work from 10:00pm until 6:00am, allowing the new parents some much needed rest. If you wish to have my overnight postpartum doula services, I do ask that you provide a bed or comfy couch for me to rest while your baby sleeps.
